Inspired by (or disgruntled by) his work in graphic design, J. Kenneth (or Ken, as he tends to be called) Rothermich’s art comes from the collision of popular culture with personal culture, and how that affects everyday life. Elements from the world that surrounds us are stripped apart and re-assembled as new creations, reflecting the experience of living a semi-aware existence in the center of a constant bombardment of advertising and information. He works with primarily with found/re-purposed collage elements and builds layered mixed-media works. Ken Rothermich lives & creates in Brooklyn, NY.
